If you've been wondering if I would start this up again since I (finally) finished school (whew!) for the semester, the answer is yes. I will. Right now.
The babysitter Bruce was going to while I was in school apparently spent a good amount of time reading to the boys. I think thats awesome, because now he'll actually sit through a few books if they have good pictures and aren't too long.
However, she didn't do any art with the boys, and that saddens me. I can understand because she had two 2 year old boys, and an infant, but it still makes me sad. Bruce isn't as interested in art as he was before, but today I think we made progress.
Yesterday we did some paint with water pages. He thought it was lame. (It was a little lame, the paint on the paper just wasn't very good.) So it didn't hold his attention for longer than five minutes. But we have some pics anyway.
I'm trying to get him on a schedule, so right after art we had a bath even though it wasn't messy enough to warrant one.
Then there were a few books and nap time.

Grandparents, if you choose to continue reading this you are sworn to secrecy! I mean it!
The first rule for the rest of this post is: We don't talk about this post!
The second rule of this post is: We don't talk about this post!
Today we had a much more exciting art time. I found something on pinterest that I thought was amazing, and that Bruce would enjoy. You take circular things of different diameters, dip them in paint, then stamp paper. Its super easy, and the results look really good.
First secret: I used Calla's paint that her mom got her for decorating our room. We haven't used it yet, and somehow in the move half of my art supplies went missing! So I used Calla's.
These are what we used
Bruce had a blast, and it held his attention for quite some time.
And here are the results!
Bruce did this one all by himself
Bruce helped with this one a little
So, secret number two.
As you can see from the earlier pictures, Bruce is doing this on the couch. I've been out of the game for too long. I should have realized this huge error in judgment, but alas, it is too late.
When, as was inevitable, Bruce got his hands painty, he wiped them on the couch.
Oops.
Good thing we have awesome pre-treatment for clothes. It worked like a charm on the couch, with one exception. There was a spot of paint that had dripped and was completely dried. Its in a semi inconspicuous area, so maybe no one will notice? Please? I hope.
Second error in judgment: I forgot that the plumbing problems mean no baths. Ugh. So I hauled Bruce into the bathroom, plopped him on the counter top, and attacked him with a wet rag. He wasn't especially thrilled about that. Oh, well. Things got clean, one way or another.
Ok, so on to other things. Mom and Will, this is mostly for you guys. This is from when they gave me the award for most improved freshman. The man I'm standing with is my Chem professor, Dr. Wingenter. He knows a lot about alcohol, and he enjoys it. But, thats beside the point.
And, yes, there was an award.
Thank you guys, so much, for all your love, support, encouragement, patience when I had melt-downs, and prayers. I couldn't have done it without you. Thanks.
Thats it for today grandparents. Hope you're having a wonderful day! See you again soon.
